If a dedicated fan of the Dodgers had unlimited resources, both in terms of time and money, one can only wonder about the kind of unparalleled baseball team they would assemble. "The All-Time" features insights from former Dodger General Manager, Ned Colletti, accompanied by the creative paintings and portraits of celebrated Sports Artist, Dave Hobrecht. This collaboration ignites the imagination, bringing forth a captivating exploration into the realm of the ultimate baseball team.

In the art book authored by Ned Colletti, the former General Manager of the Dodgers, dives into his valuable insights and experiences within the team. Colletti meticulously examines the statistics of numerous prominent players, showcasing his deep understanding of the game and is present within the book with scouting reports. Complementing Colletti's words are over 20 stunningly realistic paintings by Dave Hobrecht. Each of these incredible artworks is skillfully created using traditional charcoal techniques. Hobrecht's masterpieces capture the essence of individual players, skillfully crafted group portraits that could never be replicated in a photograph, and immortalize legendary moments from Dodger History.

Design

In this project, my responsibility was to transform a 130-page document into a book format dedicated to showcasing artwork. The crucial aspect was to develop a visually appealing and well-organized book that accentuates the artwork while also incorporating complementary text, quotes and statistics. To accomplish this, I utilized Adobe InDesign to create a polished and pristine book design that seamlessly integrates the written content with the captivating artwork.

In my role as the designer, I collaborated with Dave Hobrecht to fulfill his vision as a client. To ensure his artworks truly stood out, we carefully framed them using a slender border cushioned by a white space. In order to provide structure for the text, the words were justified to give a pristine body of the content. Additionally, the quotes were enlarged to further emphasizing their significance and ensuring they catch the reader's attention.

Deliverable

The culmination materialized into a magnificent crafted art book of 73 pages. The final product is ready for print, thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Jackie Robinson Museum. The book will be widely accessible in standard edition. An exclusive, leather-bound edition will be printed for the most discerning of collectors.
